Eley Kishimoto: Werk No 17
Here is one book I have been eyeing to get my hands on for the last few weeks. Brainchild of the talented duo Mark Eley and Wakako Kishimoto of the UK fashion/design company Eley Kishimoto.Eley Kishimoto: Werk No 17 has gained nothing but good review since its released few months back. |
"Each edition of the new issue uses archive Eley Kishimoto materials in a slightly different way, so that no two are exactly the same.
A bundle of four fabrics on both the front and back of the book act as its cover, with the back four folding over the spine and secured to the front with staples and dress making pins, mimicking, say Work, "a textile work-in progress".
It's a lovely piece of work that showcases Eley Kishimoto's textile designs in a very hands-on way. Threads drop out, and the covers fray as you flick through the book, but that simply adds to the charm."

Pimp It
Image via We Heart It |
My machine is no doubt collecting dust as we speak. It has been safely & nicely tucked away in its box for almost 10 months now.
I don't know how other people managed it but it's almost impossible for me to find any spare time to sew with two little boys. Mind you, I am still a beginner so instead of taking 5 minutes to sew a straight line, it might take me 20 minutes instead. Hehe...
Oh but I'm not giving up yet. And in case I do, you know what's gonna happen to my lonesome machine. I'm gonna pimp it like I mean it! ;)
